The Four Dem Pigs Who Voted For Slaughter In Iran

Four Democrats split from the rest of their party to vote down the War Powers Resolution which would have halted President Donald Trump from continuing strikes against Iran without first gaining Congressional approval.

Much like it was in the Senate the day before, the measure was defeated in the Republican-led House of Representatives Thursday evening with a 212-219 vote.

With voting largely representing party lines, all but two GOP lawmakers moved against the measure—Representatives Thomas Massie of Kentucky, a lead sponsor of the resolution, and Warren Davidson of Ohio.

Manufacturing Consent For Elite-Driven Wars

Via Reuters:

Pentagon officials briefed Democratic and Republican staff of several national security committees in both the Senate and the House of Representatives for more than 90 minutes on the unfolding U.S. attack in Iran, White House spokesperson Dylan Johnson said earlier.

In the briefings, administration officials emphasized that Iran’s ballistic missiles and proxy forces in the region posed an imminent threat to U.S. interests, but there was no intelligence about Tehran attacking U.S. forces first, the two sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters.

Another elite-driven war launched by a nominally democratic system.  This is no longer about a bad leader; this is about the system that produced him, enabled him, and rewards him and his cadre of degenerate lickspittles.

Asymmetric Framing at NYT

The New York Times is editorially aligned with Israel.  Here Israel’s casualties are presented as verified reality but Iran’s are framed as possibly propagandistic.  The presentation of death is also skewed: “9 killed” scans as confirmed whereas “dozens” scans as inflated or unverified.  Did NYT journalists suddenly find themselves helpless to chase down that information for verification (a process known as “investigation”)?  Finally, the passive construction selectively hides agency—in the Israel headline, Iran is assigned responsibility, yet in the school bombing there is no perpetrator.

This media bias, presented through differential standards of evidence, is what permits greater atrocities to be committed by America’s favored monster Israel while the rest of the civilized world recoils in horror.

The Gruesome Complicity of the Democratic Party

Despite the fact that 77% of Democrats view Israel’s “war” in Gaza as a genocide, Schumer said last year his “job is to keep the left pro-Israel.” which is an odd job requirement for a senator from New York. Rep Jeffries is by far the largest recipient in Congress of pro-Israel funding in the House, raking in $1,157,099 in 2024 alone, including $866,550 from his biggest single donor: AIPAC. This $866,550 from AIPAC was more than 11 times the money from his next highest donor, BlackRock, who donated $74,275 to Jeffries’ coffers.

Despite the fact that a vast majority of Democratic voters are demanding clear opposition to Trump’s buildup to a potentially disastrous war that could end up killing tens of thousands, what they’re getting instead is a slightly softer, and more process-oriented, version of Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump. And, once again, Trump gets to play bad cop while the ostensibly liberal opposition party feigns helplessness, stands around slack-jawed, and can only marshal token prosecutorial objections to what could potentially be a years-long, ruinous, and deadly war of aggression.
