FCC Chair Threatens News Outlets Covering Iran War

Here’s the Chairman of the FCC threatening broadcasters covering the Iran war in ways the administration dislikes with license revocation. They’re clearly not panicking.

Asymmetric Framing at NYT

The New York Times is editorially aligned with Israel.  Here Israel’s casualties are presented as verified reality but Iran’s are framed as possibly propagandistic.  The presentation of death is also skewed: “9 killed” scans as confirmed whereas “dozens” scans as inflated or unverified.  Did NYT journalists suddenly find themselves helpless to chase down that information for verification (a process known as “investigation”)?  Finally, the passive construction selectively hides agency—in the Israel headline, Iran is assigned responsibility, yet in the school bombing there is no perpetrator.

This media bias, presented through differential standards of evidence, is what permits greater atrocities to be committed by America’s favored monster Israel while the rest of the civilized world recoils in horror.
